According to the American Psychological Association (APA):
Benefits of Group Work
A lot of people are reserved about joining a group program because a group of strangers can sound intimidating at first, but group work provides benefits that individual therapy does not.
Those that attend group programs, in fact, say that the group program surprised them by how rewarding the group experience is and how much they got out of the group experience because it was a group.
Groups become a support network and a sounding board where the thoughts and opinions and experiences of the other members help with new ideas for improving difficult situations or life challenges. Another benefit is the extra layer of accountability where we feel accountable not only to ourselves, but to the other group members.
Regularly talking and listening to others helps put problems into perspective. We often feel alone in our struggle and it isn't until we get into a group that we are able to see that we aren't. What an amazing relief to hear others and realize you're not alone.
Other people have different personalities and backgrounds, perspectives, and insights, and they look at situations in different ways. By seeing what others are learning, doing, how they see things and make positive changes, you can discover a whole range of strategies for facing your own concerns.
Those who engage in group work together enjoy a plethora of advantages, including:

This is a space where you get to experience NO JUDGEMENT. Instead, you get to experience acceptance, genuineness, and authenticity.
As people, we make judgments every second of every day. Being able to make judgments it's a strength, not a weakness, as we need to be able to discriminate amongst the enormous amount of incoming information as we navigate our complex world. But while judging can have its place in our internal thought process, judgmentalism can become the most significant obstacles on our paths to growth.
We tend to assume that people are going to judge us and when we get to experience true, authentic non-judgement, there is a breath of fresh air.
We provide a non-judgmental space so that you can feel free to be you and to learn so that you can make tomorrow different.
Participate as much or little as you want. This is your space and your journey.
We all have those days where we just want to observe. Feel free to pass in discussion and just take it in.
You will always get more the more you participate, but participation is your choice.
This is your space. We know that lives are busy. Other than the equine-assisted programs, our group programs are designed so that you can come when you are able and not when you are not.
Come with an attitude to learn and grow and we promise you will get something out of every group your attend.
